Learn the Basics™ Ambassador Certification Program

The goal of the Learn The Basics™ Program is to encourage young women & young men to “learn the basics” about teen dating violence and equality in relationships in our crusade against adult domestic violence.

As a Learn the Basics™ Certified Ambassador, you would become certified through the Beginning Over Foundation to lead seminars that play a valuable part in domestic violence prevention right in your own school or community.

Not only will you have the opportunity to present this program to your peers, but you will also, upon certification, become qualified to certify your peers in becoming their own Learn the Basics™ Certified Ambassador. This is an opportunity to create other leaders who wish to step up and take part in this preventative & educational mission.

Roles and Responsibilities:

It’s easy! We would like to see the Ambassadors committing 2-4 hours a week in their efforts. A computer with Internet access is required, as is a self-starting attitude.

  • Commit to a 1 year term

  • Hold 2 fundraising events per year, one of which can be online

  • Perform local awareness-building activities

  • Liaise with local media as relevant (sample letter included with resources)

  • Respond to emails from other local supporters who want to connect and work together to make a difference

  • Spread the word via social media

  • Expect to have a solid knowledge of the Beginning Over Foundation’s programs and be able to represent the organization positively

 

What to expect from us:

Along the way we will provide the following:

  • Welcome/Introduction call with us

  • Invitations to attend periodic conference calls with the Beginning Over Foundation to stay informed about our work or latest news

  • Welcome kit; including a Beginning Over Foundation Ambassador shirt, Handbook and Ambassadors-only resources

  • Recognition on our Ambassador map so that others in your area can connect with you to get involved

  • Our sincere gratitude!

Benefits:

  • Develop leadership and community organizing skills

  • Get to know other survivors in your area who share a passion for the cause

  • Be a part of our national team of Beginning Over Foundation Volunteers working to make a difference in the lives of survivors.

  • You will be responsible for all your administrative costs that may occur for activities. We will help you get these items printed and delivered by providing graphics and

identifying companies that can help you get it done.

  • We will provide press release templates and assist in the writing of them if necessary. Once the press releases are completed it will be up to you to pitch them to your local TV, radio stations and newspapers.
