Park in Easton for the first annual Lick
Domestic Abuse™ fundraiser.
This family-friendly celebration will feature a free concert by
legendary classic rock band Spellbound.
There will be children’s activities, hot dogs, soft drinks
and of course, lots of ICE CREAM!!
Ice
cream shops and restaurants across the Lehigh Valley are supporting
us by donating 10% of their proceeds on July 19th to support our
efforts. All proceeds will be used to fund our Peaceful
Places program.
Domestic
abuse is the number one cause of homelessness among women
and children in the Lehigh Valley. Through the Peaceful Places
program, we provide safe, affordable housing to individuals and
families transitioning from an abusive environment.
Currently,
there is a waiting list for housing as the demand for safe transitional
space outweighs our ability to provide it. However, each new
partnership, fundraiser, sponsorship and grant helps us support
more families. Through this initiative, we will place a minimum
of 12 families in transitional housing during 2008. Each donation
of $2,000 helps us to place one more family in a peaceful place.
